When I visited my old friend in his new residence, located just near the outskirt of Moscow, it was the first time I had ever seen such a stunningly unique house design that caught my eyes and my heart deeply. At the first glance, the sight that welcomed any unsuspecting visitor was the overall cubic shape of the house. There were no roofs to cover the upper part, instead, the concrete took its stead and act as roof that protects of the house. No matter how charmed I was, I still have some doubt about the house so after I parked my car, the next thing I decided to do is to knock on the sliding door and after he opened his house, he let me in his cubic house to show me around and to talked about some things because it has been quite a long time since we met.
When I stepped in, the first thing that came into my mind was something along the lines of, “What a warm house!” which can be best translated into a double meaning in both literal and figurative sense. Against the skin-numbing cold outside air, the air inside the house feels extremely warm and snuggly, if the latter was a correct adjective, anyway, it is a definitely a nice change to harsh temperature we had to experience in daily basis in Russia, practically all year round; harsher in winter but still cold in daily basis.
The interior was dominated with wood elements. From wooden walls mixed with concrete, to a wooden floor, it all feels natural. Moreover, he added this kind of oriental, yet minimalistic touches to the house with decorative items yet simplistic, minimalistic layout of the house. It was really a beautifully unique house. Despite its whole appearance resembling a simple cube, the interior of the house was quiet sophisticated with warmth and the lovely design.
